WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy Engineer Warrant Officer Jacket
« Warrant officer » jacket (equivalent) which has lived well but which remains very beautiful and historic. The wire on the chest was intended to put a bar or medals, also, this wire corresponds to an « installation » for a [warrant officer]; being a rank with a particular status and its own singularity in most of the armies of the world (especially France). In the Imperial Japanese Army, the rank of warrant officer is the highest in the hierarchy of non-commissioned officers, while for the Imperial Japanese Navy, it is a more intermediate rank -between non-commissioned officer and officer- and is therefore unique not to be confused with the reserve cadet who has the same two collar tabs, like the latter have bands on the sleeves. The latter were therefore generally non-commissioned officers who rose through the ranks, with a long career behind them. It therefore often happens that warrant officers have a longer military career than many officers, hence the possibility of putting a loaded bar (or 6 medals) which may be that of a Japanese commander or lieutenant-colonel of the 1930s.
